A former employee stood to accuse Facebook & Mark Zuckerberg of stacking profits over the impact of hate speech. This unfolded in a Sunday night interview on CBS’s ’60 Minutes’.<\/p>\nFormer product manager \u201cFrances Haugen\u201d the whistleblower behind a number of documents leaked to the Wall Street Journal that exposed its role in contributing to a toxic online environment for teen girls, stated that Facebook applies different rules to high-profile accounts and that the platform played a role in the January 6 attack on the Capitol Building.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were conflicts of interest between what was good for the public and what was good for Facebook,\u201d she said in her first public appearance. \u201cFacebook over and over again chose to optimize for its own interests like making more money.\u201d<\/p>\n
